Please complete the form below to apply for a hardship membership.  Upon receipt, the board will discuss and vote on the application and its merits.

Effective January 1, 2025 and all years following, existing members are required to fully complete the approved Hardship Application and rendered to the President prior to any January 1st for all officers’ review and consideration. Approval is not guaranteed and if approved, will only be for that 1 membership year, as no further hardship years will be permitted, and the annual Astronomical League dues of $6 cannot be waived and must be paid by the applicant in order to remain a member. Those future parties who are not members, want to join SWFAS during any term, and state that they cannot pay the dues but still want to join, must complete the Hardship Application and submit such to the President for all officers’ review and approval. If approved, then their status of existing member would apply.

Hardship Membership Application
The minimal requirement for a hardship membership is that you be able to pay the amount we have to pay downstream for our membership in the Astronomical League. That amount is $6. Do you have the ability to pay that?
If you are granted a hardship membership, you will be asked to help the club operate by volunteering in some sort of capacity. If you are accepted as a hardship member, will you commit to volunteering?
Hardship membership are approved for one year without the possibility for repeating. Do you understand this?
Unfortunately if your answer is "no", we can not consider you for consideration as a hardship member.
